Hey, ThunderChild! Great to hear your thoughts!

I'm glad you had a good time!
> I kept getting these looks, and they kept saying "TC, that's you up there!" ... When the Klingons went into the restaurant, I literally fell out of my chair and onto the floor .. It was so in-character for them, and I was waiting for one of the workers to faint or something .. but the response "I've served Klingons before" (or something to that effect) was priceless.>
That was one of my favorite moments as well. Peter calling me, and subsequently being told to, "Go away!" made me laugh because I had forgotten that even *HAPPENED*, much less that it was filmed! I thought Harris (the DP) switched the damn thing off!
> Barbara Adams .. I totally love the Commander. Yes, I know that she has been criticized by some because of what she did with Whitewater ... so flipping what? I would have done the same thing in her position. She believes in something .. for her, Trek is a way of life, and I will respect her until the day I die.>
Well, I'm not as hard on her as some, but I do have some reservations about her actions. I believe that there are better ways to show the INNER philosophy of Star Trek than showing it outwardly with elements that people just see flipping through the TV. They need to see the elements that it takes time to get to know about Star Trek, and it is there that I think Barbara Adams needs to rethink her position.
> First .. Gabbie, did you know that the Trek stars who are in Trekkies didn't *KNOW* they were in it?>
Hmm... didn't know THAT, interesting tidbit.
> George Takei talked about it on Sunday, and said that at the time ... literally, until the day before (Saturday) he didn't know it was footage used in the doc. He and the other stars were asked by Denise if she could talk with them about their experiences with Trek backstage at the grand slam con in LA last year, and none of the stars were paid anything ... apparently, several of them are consulting with their agents regarding compensation.>
Eeek! Well, they signed releases like the rest of us, and those releases have that nice little fine print that says, "You ain't entitled to BEANS." And they could not have known they weren't being filmed... its hard to explain, but the way that shoot was setup, it was in a way where you could NOT have been unaware of being on camera... the guy operating the damn thing or the boom mike over your head or the large lighting setup may be an indicator. :) The film, while successful for what it is, ain't exactly gonna be a blockbuster, so they're kind of grasping at straws. They ought to just let this nice little piece of work be.
> Marina ... had lots to say, but I'll only talk about a couple parts. First, the Mistress Janeway factor came back with a vengeance on Sunday. On accident, she kept hitting this guy in the front row with the cord of her microphone (she walks back and forth a lot, and the cord kept getting trapped) .. every time she would pull the cord, it would snap this guy ... she said "I'm sorry, I keep whipping you" .... he replied "More, Mistress, more!" ... The room was filled with laughter.>
Hahahaha! Will have to tell Deb (the woman behind the Mistress herself, also a dear friend) about this one! Well, she'll probably stumble across it, she goes through this group.
