Hi. My wife, I, and a friend saw Trekkies today. Since seeing Denise Crosby at a convention in Las Vegas in Sept 1996 when she was making it and hearing her talk about it, I had some reservations about it all. I have to tell you though that upon seeing it we all enjoyed it thoroughly. In fact I would go see it again and rent or buy it on video. :) You folks did a really great job. Yes there were some funny parts but as the ads said, although we were laughing at them, we were also laughing with them. I can say that as a fan, and having been to a number of conventions, your handling of the subject matter was well done and not heavy handed. I would like to have seen a few more shots of average as opposed to fanatical fans but oh well. The people in the movie said it best about themselves and what they were about. You let us come to our own conclusions. There were some very touching moments. You introduced us to people and things such as that Trek radio talk show and the Federation Dentist we would never otherwise have heard about. I liked the more in-depth profile of the Arkansas fan who went in uniform to the trial. It was good to find out more about her than what we read in the news. It was great to see the actors and producers interviewed about fandom and their own experiences.
