Hi,
I live in São Paulo, Brazil, and just met Denise Crosby last night: she signed me two pictures of Tasha Yar in an old Communicator magazine (from 1987) and a card of Sela that came within its action figure doll. I sat in the first row in the theatre, in my Star Trek uniform, to watch "Trekkies" at the International Film Festival, with my wife and friends. We filmed Denise's speech at the theatre.
As a general impression afterwards, Denise was very at ease answering every question anyone who spoke enough English could formulate. The movie did not bring much more than we already knew, speaking for ourselves, trekkers: we've already been to three Star Trek Conventions held by Creation Entertainment in Pasadena, California, leading a huge group from a Brazilian Star Trek Fan Club. We saw places and people in the film that we recognized. I am also a TV series collectibles dealer here, I own a shop a catalog and have a booth at local conventions, so I am acquainted with all the gadgets and memorabilia. But I didn't know about that place Vulkan, in Canada, I guess. That may be a place to visit in the future instead of L.A. again, who knows.
I would myself like to have a video of "Trekkies", of course. I would also like to purchase at wholesale basis to retail them here. But at $90.00 each it is out of question (as I checked previously your site). There is one thing I didn't understand, though: what a hell is that guy wearing a wig and earrings and makeup doing in the film? I am afraid I don't know English enough to understand the connection and to explain to my fellowmates in the audience that asked my help in the occasion. Could you tell me?
